So here we are, back at this first stage of riding a board - getting up on it. It's obviously an essential skill and not a huge step on from what you can already do on your twintip but for some, it can still be tricky. So we’ll keep this video brief and cover just the key elements for both the basic waterstart and then the step on beach start.
With the waterstart your kite technique is important with some small differences that once understood will help you better control your board both before and during the waterstart. But the compared to riding a twintip the fundamental differences are where you place your feet and the change in weight distribution between them. This will be your first time at experiencing this change in body position and starting to understand how to always have enough pressure between your feet and the board, so the lack of foot straps is not a problem.
